About us

Not Islands Initiative is a youth-led non-governmental organization. Founded in March 2021, the organization confronted a turbulent time—the pandemic, misinformation, climate change, and strained international relations. In this hour of uncertainty and challenge, we resonate with John Donne and put our faith in the compassion of humanity.

Our purpose is to connect youth around the globe, promote transcultural understanding, and lay the groundwork for the shared future of mankind.

Youth Summit ’21: Reframe Global Narratives

This summit is dedicated to combat media misrepresentation of cultures. Youth speakers are invited from around the globe to share their views and experiences, and we have over 100 participants from 23 nations attending the event. Check out the link below to learn their stories!

Sino-Indian Youth Dialogue: Can Diplomacy Save the World?

Hosted in collaboration with Apollo Model UN, Microphone Initiative, WomenNLeadership, and Compass4Careers, this event invites attendees to talk about pressing global issues ranging from climate change, censorship, media, and technology to border conflicts. Special guests of this dialogue include John Ferguson, President of Harvard Foreign Policy Initiative (HUFPI); Dr. Victor Gao, Chairman of the Yale Law School Association of China, Vice President of the Center for China and Globalization, and Deng Xiaoping’s interpreter; and Mr. Dipanjan Roy Chaudhury, Diplomatic Editor at The Economic Times, India.
